CASTRAURE di VENEZIA

On the island Sant’ Erasmo inside the archipelago of Venice the vegetable farmers are growing the purple artichokes. The first buds are called Castraure. This culinary delicacy is harvested just for 20 days a year and mostly sold at the Rialto vegetable market in Venice.
